Week 3
So here it is. The end of a long enduring journey. Through napkin-less lunches and waste-free trash cans, I have made it with little error. To be honest this week was not extremely difficult in comparison to week 2. I had a little trouble with not using the car, but I managed to get my boyfriend to car pull. I have not produced trash besides a wrapper to a cough drop which I believe was recyclable. My no meat days never let up. They were extremely difficulty from day 1 all the way through to now. I never thought I would be so happy to see low grade hamburger slopped with cheese and thrown into a pile with the others. I am really excited though to have made it this far. Doing this on a daily basis would be tough but I think this was a great cause overall. It is definitely something that I will consider doing in the near future to help sustain our environment. Overall it was a nice experience and it was cool to look over and see a fellow classmate using a handkerchief as a napkin instead of creating a mountain of ketchup and greased stained paper towels. I recommended my friends try at least one of my goals to see how difficult it was. Funny to say whenever my friends only used one napkin at any of their meals, they felt the need to tell me as a reward for their awareness. And oh do I congratulate them because I think that is definitely what we need. People becoming aware and wanting to do something they had never even thought or tried to do is awesome. I think the lifestyles project is a great idea to get people like us active in restoring our world, and it is kids like us that can advocate such change for those ignorant, but willing to listen.
